About zNetLaB
zNetLaB is a networking lab you open in a browser. Learn on a simulator you can try free, then practise on real device images on a lab server — with nothing to install.
Why we built it
- Lab software is a wall. It costs money, will not install, or needs more memory than a learner's laptop has.
- Simulators run out of road. Sooner or later you need a real configuration on real software.
- zNetLaB covers both. A simulator you can try free to start with, and real labs for when you need them — in one account.
What we offer
Learn & Simulate — free to start
A simulator in your browser: 147 devices with the command lines of Cisco, Juniper, Arista and other vendors, guided labs, packet capture, articles and a forum.
Real labs
Open-source devices plus the vendor images you are licensed to run, booting on a lab
server, with consoles and real tcpdump captures.
zNetLaB Desktop
The real-lab half on your own Windows or Linux computer, offline. One setup program switches on WSL2, installs zNetLaB and its open-source devices and opens signed in; your own images are recognised by file name. Free until further notice. Download
Company portal
Monitoring, topology, tickets, configs and IP plans for teams that run a real network.
What we believe
- Lessons are free for good. The simulator starts with a free trial — 7 days, or 30 for the first 100 accounts — then a low-cost subscription. Real labs are priced by server space, never by images.
- Honest about limits. We say what zNetLaB does and where it stops, and print reviews only from real users.
- Your images, your licence. zNetLaB ships no vendor software; you bring images you are licensed to run.
- Open formats. Labs export as files, captures as
.pcap, and existing EVE-NG and GNS3 libraries work as they are.
